Rich Agnello
Rich Agnello's sports-behavioral health novel Going To Williamsport has been recognized as a Finalist in the Sports Category of the 2023 American Fiction Awards.
In addition, his primary school short story What Do I Do With Dewey? was one of only 40 Semifinalists in the 2022 ScreenCraft Cinematic Short Story Competition from almost 800 submissions worldwide.
Rich's books Going to Williamsport and Our Marian Pulpit: From a Lector's Soul House were recently featured on a podcast hosted by WCAT Catholic Radio in St Louis.
Agnello is a Webster, NY native from just east of Rochester, and graduated fourth from his class of 188 in the Boys’ Division of Rochester’s Bishop Kearney High School, while earning 20 semester hours credit through Advanced Placement (AP) and Nazareth University extension coursework onsite.
Agnello went on to Marquette University, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Speech cum laude in three years in 1978 while graduating ninth in his Diederich College of Communication class of 109. Following his undergraduate studies, Rich completed a three-week wilderness expedition as a 1979 graduate of Outward Bound West in San Lorenzo, New Mexico, and then earned his Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business in one year.
Rich is the husband of Theresa (Cecil) Agnello and have been married since 2000, and they reside north of Columbus in Worthington, Ohio, where Agnello is a 22-year member of Lifetime Fitness and 10-year participant in That Man Is You! Rich and Theresa are also active 20-year parishioners at Worthington’s St Michael Catholic Church in the Diocese of Columbus.
